About me

Hello! My name is Katrie. I am a 36 year old civil engineer who has called this wonderful city of Berlin home for over 5 years. What brought me to Berlin was a global research expedition looking into how cities tackle their urban challenges. I'm now co-founder of a tech startup, and in my down time you'll find me exploring the local sights, trying my hand at a new activity with friends or experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen.

My experience as a pet sitter

I first joined Pawshake in 2017. Since then I've taken care of both cats and dogs for house sits and house visits, and have been a regular dog walker to 4 dogs. I feel very comfortable with taking care of both large and small dogs and cats of all types, and have experience taking care of animals with special needs - including arthritis and epilepsy. Prior to joining Pawshake I also had my own dog Jessie and was a foster carer with my local animal rescue centre.

Services I offer

• Dog walking - 30min walk and play in the local park, with pickup and return to your home.
• Home visits - pet and plant care. For cats this includes feeding and refreshing their water bowl, a clean out and top up of their kitty litter tray and vacuuming of surrounding areas and play time.
• House sitting - care for up to 3 pets at your home for as long as you need. This includes all pet care needs including feeds, dispensing of medicine and play time. For dogs, dog walks during the day as needed is included. I also can help water your plants, take out your garbage and collect the mail. 1 overnight booking = up to 24h.
• Doggy daycare - care for your dog at my home for up to 10h. Includes two dog walks.
• Home dog boarding - care for your dog at my home for as long as you need. This includes all pet care needs including feeds, dispensing of medicine, play time and up to four dog walks a day. 1 overnight booking = up to 24h.

Additional information about Doggy Daycare or Home Boarding

I have my own apartment in Charlottenburg (near Mierendorffplatz) which is near a number of large parks, so would be more than happy to host your pet in my home.

My work hours are flexible, so if you book me in advance or have me as a regular carer, I can arrange my week to align with your pets normal schedule. Both doggy day care and home boarding include play time and dog walks to the local park. Doggy day care includes one long walk around lunchtime, and a shorter walk before you pick them up. Home boarding includes up to 4 walks - one long walk around lunchtime, and shorter walks in the morning, afternoon and evening. 

For multi-day stays, owners are encouraged to also provide their dog's bed, which can be set up in my living room area, near my own bed. 

Happy to also meet you at your place to pick up and drop off your pet if you happen to also live nearby :)

If you're interested in booking me, but live further than 2-3km from my place, I'd still be happy to have a chat. I'm able to keep my rates affordable, because I cycle around. Saying that, I'm more than happy to take care of pets a little further afield if we agree on a small public transport budget.
